Presentations may be created for a large audience and displayed on a projector while a speaker gives a presentation

Presentations are common in business and may be directed towards staff, managers, shareholders or other businesses

Professional speakers may earn their entire living or subsidize another job by giving speaches on particular topics of interest for which they have expert knowledge

Schools often invite motivational speakers to talk to large groups of students

Businesses may also hire professional motivational speakers, or experts on particular topics

Professional speakers may earn thousands of dollars for a 1-3 hour presentation and also have their hotel and travel costs paid

Kiosk presentations are an interactive format of presenting information in which the user can click on various options for further information at a store, business, hospital etc. It may be easier to create a kiosk style powerpoint presentation than to create a similiar type presentation using a web page format.

Multi-media video clips for elaborate presentations may also be added which can be done by professional film/video producers and editors

    • In addition to this a voice and music may be added to the presentation, often disc-jockeys from radio stations are utilized for a professional voice over.
    • Often professional graphic designers are hired to put together a presentation of images and text and create special effects like fading and out certain elements on the page.

Software for Creating a Presentation versus viewing presentations

You need to have Microsoft PowerPoint to create presentations, however you can view a presentation created with Microsoft PowerPoint even if you don't have the program.

The microsoft.com site has a free download of Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer that will allow others to view presentations that you create if they don't have PowerPoint installed on their computer.

Working with Images from the Internet
