Your Own Business :

• Think of a business that sells some kind of merchandise.
• Example: Jewelry store, video game store, kayak store, sport store etc.
• Don't use businesses like landscaping, hairdressing, car wash etc. that are service businesses.

Calculating % Markups on Inventory:

• Think of specific things that your store may sell (eg. Jewelry store-watches, rings, necklaces etc, Snowboard Shop).

Check Register :

• Your business will make bank deposits of its sales taken from the store safe every 4 days or so.
• Think of the different things your business will write checks for eg. salaries, rent, utilities, advertising, supplies etc. (think of things specific to your business, eg. snowboard shop purchases $3,150.00 worth of bindings, pays $350.00 to local newspaper for advertising etc.)

Balance Sheet :

• Think of the different things that your business would own (assets) and debts (liabilities).

Income Statement:

• Think of the different income and expenses that your business would have.
