Report Wizard - Sorting:

• Reports made using AutoReport (columnar or tabular) are based on tables or queries
• In the last section you fount that query based reports don't "sort" data in the same order as the query, however if you use the Report Wizard it will allow you to change which fields are sorted before the report is generated
  • eg. you may want to sort by student number instead of last name, instead of creating a new query and making an autoreport on this new query you can change the sorting when using the Report Wizard

Report Wizard - Grouping:

• Look at the following report, notice the repetition of the Mr. beside each of the male teachers (there is no grouping in this report)

• Look at the revised report in figure 4.5.2 below, notice that Mr. only appears beside the first male teacher
• There is no repetition (the report is grouped by title)

Report Wizard report styles:

• One of the last steps of the Report Wizard allows you to choose from a variety of styles that your report will appear, styles differ by:
  • color and type of font, background colors, lines, title designs etc.

Changes made after report made:

• If you want to change the sorting of a report once it has been made you can still do this in Layout View or Design View
• You can also change the grouping in Layout View or Design View after the report is made if you want to make changes.
